The Ministry of Trade, Economy and Industry (METI) published the White Paper on International Trade 2017, on 27 June. While the anti-globalism and the protectionism are growing in the world, the white paper encompasses the way to promote the free trade sustainably and analyzes the international trade policies that can contribute to the economic growth as well as the importance of the free trade, the support  for globalizing SME businesses, and the necessity of innovation.  The update of the TPP after the withdrawal of US and the Japan-EU EPA, which is in the final stretch of the negotiation,  are touched upon in it. The entire text of the white paper is available from the link below (Japanese only).
