Lunch Meeting with Sanae Takaichi - Former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications
On 26 June, the International Policy Forum will welcome Sanae Takaichi, former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications and Chair of the Cybersecurity Division of the LDP’s Policy Research Council, to share her insights on the topic of reducing potential risks, including in the realms of defence and cybersecurity. Ms. Takaichi will address a range of issues, including how the government’s policies are seeking to minimise the cybersecurity risks that people face in their daily lives.
Ms. Takaichi was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1993 and has held many key positions in government, including Minister in charge of Science & Technology, and Minister of State for Innovation in Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s first government. In the current Abe Administration, in addition her role as a Cabinet minister, key positions have included deputy head of the Strategic Headquarters for Advanced Information and Telecommunications Network Society Promotion, and Deputy Chair of the Cabinet Members Council on e-Government. She is a former Chair of the LDP’s Policy Research Council, and former Chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
