環境

Japan has been a leader in pollution-related policymaking at the global level and traditionally has had a fairly good track record in implementing global standards and synchronizing its legislation with international treaties in this area. Japan has strict environmental policies in many areas and this has implications for virtually all industry sectors. We have supported corporate and non-governmental clients on a wide range of environmental issues, including recycling, trade in illegally logged timber, sustainable fishing, biodiversity, energy efficiency, water pollution, and the use and destruction of toxic substances, etc.

Many environmental challenges remain, however, while new ones emerge. Among these is climate change. In recent years GR Japan has developed a strong portfolio of climate-related work for non-profit organizations covering electric vehicles, green steel, investor views, carbon pricing, and transnational energy relations between Japan and other countries.
