So much has changed since the election last month and our last meeting of the International Policy Forum. But few are better placed than our guest speaker, Naokazu Takemoto, to comment on that change and the new policy initiatives of the Abe Cabinet. As Chair of the LDP’s Budget and Financial Affairs Committee, Mr Takemoto is in charge of the party’s input into all fiscal policies, including to the giant stimulus package agreed by the Cabinet on Friday and the content of the 2013 budget. Mr Takemoto discussed with us the substance and meaning of “Abenomics” – the economic and fiscal policies of the Abe administration.
