Date: Thursday 2 April 2020
Time: 8:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

GR Japan is honoured to welcome Yoshimasa Hayashi as the speaker at the first webinar hosted by the International Policy Forum (IPF).  Mr. Hayashi is currently the serving Chair of the Liberal Democratic Party Headquarters for Economic Growth Strategies, which is responsible for the government’s economic policy responses to the coronavirus, including liaison with the business community.  With the Abe Administration compiling a massive new emergency economic package for launch in April, to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus outbreak on the economy and now the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, Mr. Hayashi is uniquely well placed to speak about the government’s policy response to these historically significant issues.

A five-time elected Member of the House of Councillors, Mr. Hayashi is also Vice-Chair of the LDP’s Research Commission on the Tax System, which will play a key role in setting the government’s fiscal policy response to the coronavirus crisis.  Mr. Hayashi is a former Minister of Defence, former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and former Minister for Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology.

Please join us for what is sure to be a timely and fascinating opportunity to hear from and exchange views with a key player at the heart of the government’s response.
